Both options keep all reading and field-note features available. “Accept” records willingness to allow optional storage, but no optional storage or tracking is currently activated. “Essential only” records that choice instead.

Cookies and localStorage are different
Cookies are small values that a browser can send with web requests. localStorage is browser storage available to scripts for the same website origin and is not automatically sent with each request. Our code uses localStorage only to remember the preference you explicitly choose. It does not create an identifier for advertising or analytics.

What is not stored
The preference contains no name, email address, message text or cross-site identifier. The field-note composer has no server submission and does not persist your text as a website draft. A copied note may remain in your device’s clipboard; a downloaded note remains as a file until you remove it. Those device copies are not controlled by the preference buttons.
Change or withdraw your choice
Select either preference above to replace a previous choice. Select “Clear preference” to remove the stored value. Clearing it does not activate tracking or disable access. You can also delete this website’s data through your browser’s privacy settings, block localStorage or use private browsing. Private sessions and different browsers have separate storage, so a choice may not carry over between them.
If browser storage is blocked, the controls display a message rather than claiming that your preference was saved. The articles, native accordions and ordinary links remain available. Menu, tabs and the field-note copy/download tools require JavaScript for their enhanced behaviour.
External websites and future changes
External source links may lead to services that use their own cookies and consent controls. We do not load their scripts or embeds merely because we link to them. Review the destination’s policy when you visit. If optional technologies are introduced here, this notice and the applicable consent controls must be updated before those technologies are activated where consent is required.
